BROADVIEW HEIGHTS OFFICE OF MAYOR

The residents of Broadview Heights are seeking new leadership in our office of Mayor. Qualified candidates must apply in person with resume in hand. Willing to undergo intense public screening and scrutiny while keeping a positive presence and a true desire to serve. 

We are currently seeking a Mayor who will; 

• Work with and unify city government providing leadership throughout 

• Be a community leader who will create and stimulate economic growth 

• Establish and build partnerships with development and commerce 

• Know and enforce the city charter 

• Make decisions and when necessary and be willing to take risks 

• Be held accountable for decisions and actions while in office 

• Oversee all department directors, holding them accountable 

• Provide vision and a plan to make this vision reality 

• Support current city services to our residents with personal attention to details 

• Prepare for, recognize and capitalize on every opportunity in our city 

• Build and strengthen city finances 

• Be humble both in adoration and criticism 

• Have a plan, a time line with a strategy and the ability to complete this plan.

A 2-year residency is required. All candidates will be required to comply with all State and local election laws as well as the laws established in the city charter of Broadview Heights, Ohio. Prior city government experience not required (may be evaluated a plus or not). 

The successful candidate will serve a term of 4 years under an ever-present eye of the public where someone will find fault in all you do. Prior experience in stress-management a must. Must be self-motivated and willing to work with all department directors to improve the daily operations of the city and improve the local standard of our community.
